Clay Target Shooting
by Admin User - Saturday, 24 July 2010, 08:48 AM

Success at NISS Champs, 3rd July

Saturday the 3rd marked one of the most important events of the year for us, the North Island Secondary schools Champs, second only to the Nationals. We took two teams away with us, and after the first round it was looking like it could be a good day for the TBC Clay target team with our Number One team of Scott Verran, Levi Bent, Brody Clark, Jono Humphreys and Jacob Samuels shooting four 19/20’s and one 20/20, and with the shooters from the Number Two team of Matt Dyer, Aiden Fleming, Scott Wagstaff, Glen Lyn and Cory Baldock shooting good scores.

After qualifying earlier in the term the Tauranga Boys’ College No 1 Badminton team; Regan August, Thomas Eminson, Thomas Young and Sean Davey, had a victorious win over Rotorua Boys’ High School last Wednesday to be crowned the 2010 winners.

They easily won their pool games against Trident High School and Western Heights High, and then beat Otumoetai College in the semi-final, four games to two. In the games against Rotorua we tied three matches each and won on the points score, 110 points to 108.

The 2nd Division team; Lawrence Caridia, Jack Hwang, Robert Stewart and Mitchell Staite, were also proud victors beating Aquinas College in the final to become the BOPSS Division 2 Champs for 2010.

CROSS COUNTRY TBC Dominate Again!
by Admin User - Thursday, 17 June 2010, 09:16 AM

CrosscountryThe junior boys team (pictured Left) headed to the Waikato/BOP Champs on a high after sweeping out the Bays two weeks prior. The track was fast, this was obvious when the juniors sprinted off at the start to gain early position. The race was tight, spreading out as the race went on. At the front was Scott and Jacob (Hamilton Boys’), two rivals with Scott winning the last race. Brad and Javahn were tight together in the third and fourth spots. This went on for most of the race until Jacob made a break at around one kilometre to go. Scott came in second with a clear lead on Brad and Javahn. Third was Brad with only a 10m lead on Javahn who was fourth. Overall it was a strong race from the boys with almost half placing in the top 20.
